Dr. Edwards is a physician, researcher, and a nationally recognized expert psychiatrist. He previously served as an assistant professor and clinical assistant professor, an assistant director of residency training, and an attending psychiatrist at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he specialized in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, adult ADHD, trauma, inpatient psychiatry, and cultural psychiatry.

Dr. Edwards graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University. He earned his medical degree, summa cum laude, with honors in medical humanities, at the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine. He completed his training in adult psychiatry at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he also served as Chief Resident. He pursued additional training in psychotherapy from the Palo Alto Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program Fellowship Year. Dr. Edwards received his fellowship training at the Psychiatry and Law Service at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Edwards is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and was awarded the prestigious Laughlin Fellowship by the American College of Psychiatrists.

He has published dozens of peer-reviewed articles in leading medical journals and textbooks. Dr. Edwards is an editor of the Study Guide to the DSM-5-TR, published by the American Psychiatric Association. He is the recipient of numerous national awards and honors, and is a highly sought-after speaker and educator.
